"It has no motor, thus saves engine maintenance and maintenance," says TMN CEO Fatou Ibrahim, "and is also cost-saving on replacement parts due to the absence of frequently maintained components like the air filter, fuel filler, oil filter, and doesn't require oil and lubricants." We found that larger tuktuks with greater storage were required when we brought them because it is what was readily available on the market, she said.

Infrastructure and Transportation

There are 10,000 tuktuks in Mombasa right now, but only 7,000 of them are properly registered with the county. This poses both potential and challenges, according to Engineer Albert Keino, Chief Officer of Transport and Infrastructure. He said that there are many innovative ways to solve environmental challenges, one of which is electric mobility.

Keino claims that "it is also in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations," which emphasise the importance of creating surroundings that are both healthy and clean in order to promote productivity and advancement. Tuktuks are the city's biggest CO2 emitters, according to a recent Greenhouse Effect Emission (GHE) evaluation of Mombasa's transportation sector.

The transportation department's chief of climate: "His will greatly help us resolve the problem. In light of climate change, we have been discussing ways to try to reduce that." According to him, it is encouraging that the market is starting to open up for companies in the e-mobility industry, and more specifically in the three-wheeler market.
